Join this panel with volunteer specialists—Alison Besecker, Erin Navarro, and Elaine Mew (moderated by VA’s Graeme Dearden)—as they share their insights and how they’ve applied good practices to support, retain, and engage volunteers.

Terms and Conditions
- Presentation times above will factor in question-and-answer periods (e.g. 1 hr presentation = 30-45 minutes of content, 15-30 minutes of Q&A)
- Many Volunteer Alberta workshops and presentations are subsidized by our programming. We will notify you if your requested presentation is eligible for subsidy.
- Mileage is calculated at $0.51 per km. Food is calculated at $20 per person per 100km. Supplies and accommodation will be quoted directly from suppliers.
- We require at least 30 days notice to host a workshop or presentation.
- Volunteer Alberta staff are located in Edmonton and Calgary. We will make every effort to match your presentation to a team member who is close to your location, but depending on content and expertise, we may need to send a team member from a further location to meet the requirements of your presentation.
