National Volunteer Week 2024

As we look back at National Volunteer Week (NVW), we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our province’s amazing volunteers and celebrate the wonderful events that happened!

NVW 2024 has shown that every moment matters, and that together, we can create compassionate and resilient communities of care and belonging. During challenging times, the role of volunteers is indispensable. The dedication and generosity of our province’s volunteers have truly made a difference in enhancing the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities. To each volunteer who has stepped forward to share their time and talents, your actions are seen, felt, and deeply valued. Thank you!

Whether you were looking to connect with fellow volunteers, explore new volunteering opportunities, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of giving back, we sincerely hope NVW 2024 has strengthened your connection with your community and with volunteerism! Let’s carry forward the momentum and inspiration from this week into every day!

Every April, Volunteer Canada leads the National Volunteer Week (NVW) campaign. This year, NVW took place April 14–20, 2024. NVW provides a chance to celebrate the vibrancy and impact of volunteerism in our communities and nationwide. This year’s theme is “Every Moment Matters,” emphasizing the importance of each volunteer and their unique contributions, particularly now, when support is needed more than ever. Volunteer Alberta, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, aims to support communities throughout the province in celebrating the outstanding contributions of volunteers, past, present, and future.

No matter how big or small the gesture, every moment matters! Let’s celebrate the collective impact we make when we come together to nurture the well-being of our communities.
