Topic Is Everyone Welcome: Tools to Broaden Volunteer Engagement Supported by CCVA

May 13, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am MDT
Virtual (Zoom)

Creating inclusive and welcoming volunteer programs doesn’t happen by accident—it takes intention, reflection, and the right tools. This session introduces a practical, free toolkit designed to help organizations broaden who they reach and how they engage volunteers.

The Is Everyone Welcome? Toolkit was developed through the Assessing Diversity and Equity in Volunteer Inclusion (ADEVI) project, a collaborative initiative exploring who has access to volunteer opportunities and how organizations can grow more equitable in their volunteer practices. Grounded in the belief that inclusive organizations build stronger connections with their communities, the project is a partnership between Arizona State University (ASU) and the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA), with funding from AmeriCorps.

In this session, participants will get a guided tour of the toolkit—available free on idealist.org—and explore practical resources they can put to work right away. Highlights include a Guide for Writing Inclusive Volunteer Position Descriptions, Volunteer Motivation Questionnaires, and an Inclusive Volunteer Recruitment Guide. Whether you’re new to equity work or looking to deepen existing efforts, this workshop offers concrete tools to help make volunteer engagement more welcoming and accessible for all.
Faiza Venzant, CVA will be the speaker for this event from CCVA
