Community Nonprofit Internship Program

Community Nonprofit Internship Program (CNiP)

The Community Nonprofit Internship Program (CNiP) is an educational initiative designed to provide meaningful skill-based internship opportunities for students while also supporting several of the complex workforce issues of Alberta’s nonprofits. Through a web platform, students can browse and apply to a variety of meaningful internship opportunities that nonprofit organizations across the province have posted. Through CNiP:

Nonprofit organizations gain added talent and people power so that they can better achieve their mission

and

Post-secondary students gain skills, experience, and networks, along with a financial award so that they can equip themselves to engage in fulfilling community work as volunteers or employees in the future.

Welcome future Changemakers!

Are you ready to turn passion into purpose? We are proud to introduce you to the new Community Nonprofit Internship Program (CNiP)! We’ve taken the well-known Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) and reimagined it to better support you. SCiP, which welcomed over 1000 interns annually from across the province and distributed bursaries to each participant, has now evolved into CNiP – the next iteration of meaningful internships, with just as many valuable hands-on learning experiences for interns and extra helping hands for host organizations.

To help us test out what might work and help us identify exciting innovations, we’re partnering with select organizations and institutions across the province to explore variations of internships. We are thrilled to announce our current partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Edmonton .
