David Marallag

David brightens up our office with humour and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Committed to (un)learning to enrich his work, he brings positive energy for collaboration.

David takes in wisdom from various fields, such as sociology, philosophy, and politics. His mantra, “literature, film, music, and video games,” captures his interest and appreciation for the wonderful spectrum that these mediums provide. He also enjoys cultivating and sharing his meme wisdom.

Grateful for the Calgary Catholic Immigrant Society’s support during his settlement in Mokhintsis as a newcomer, David pays it forward and now volunteers at TELUS Spark Science Centre (delivering a memorable time for kids), Contemporary Calgary (engaging with the local arts scene), and CJSW (reviewing amazing albums).

David holds double Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social and Cultural Anthropology and History from the University of Calgary and has extensive program coordination experience from two previous roles at UCalgary. He is also a proud alumnus of Youth @ the Table, Year 3.
