OPERATIONS & FINANCE
Operations and Finance strategically supports Volunteer Alberta at an organizational level and is responsible for organizational leadership finance, operations, human resources, IT, and internal administration, as well as at a governance level through Board relations. This team is committed to continuous improvement and excellence, while developing VA’s organizational capacity through supporting and strengthening our people.
NETWORKS & ENGAGEMENT
The Networks and Engagement staff support Volunteer Alberta’s values and is responsible for supporting our members, the Alberta Volunteer Centre Network, and connecting with nonprofit/voluntary organizations from across the province. This portfolio is focused on growing the understanding of the valuable contribution the nonprofit/voluntary sector makes, supporting the capacity of the sector to tackle complex challenges effectively, and building connections between nonprofit/voluntary organizations and between the nonprofit, public and private sectors.
LEARNING & RESOURCES
The Learning and Resources staff support all of Volunteer Alberta’s values, with a focus on stewardship, volunteerism, ingenuity, and community. Learning and Resources displays these values by applying innovative and adaptive approaches to encourage the nonprofit/voluntary sector to work together to create and support resilient and vibrant communities. Learning opportunities are designed to enhance the nonprofit/voluntary sector’s capacity to take action, to increase organizational resiliency and to contribute to community and individual wellbeing.
YOUTH @ THE TABLE
The Youth @ the Table team works to engage young people in nonprofit governance structures to tackle complex social issues and bring unique insights on changing community needs within the nonprofit sector. Supported by Canada Services Corp, Youth @ the Table is a province-wide initiative seeking to engage youth ages 18-30 in shaping their communities.

The Communications team supports Volunteer Alberta’s values with a focus on leading Volunteer Alberta’s communications initiatives on both the local and provincial level. We are dedicated to the promotion of volunteerism and the voluntary sector, and upholding Volunteer Alberta’s brand.
