Is Everyone Welcome? Tools to Broaden Volunteer Engagement – a new webinar with CCVA
Creating inclusive and welcoming volunteer programs doesn’t happen by accident—it takes intention, reflection, and the right tools. This session introduces a practical, free toolkit designed to help organizations broaden who they reach and how they engage volunteers.
In this session, participants will get a guided tour of the “Is Everyone Welcome?” toolkit—available free on idealist.org—and explore practical resources they can put to work right away. Highlights include a Guide for Writing Inclusive Volunteer Position Descriptions, Volunteer Motivation Questionnaires, and an Inclusive Volunteer Recruitment Guide.
Whether you’re new to equity work or looking to deepen existing efforts, this workshop offers concrete tools to help make volunteer engagement more welcoming and accessible for all.
The “Is Everyone Welcome?” Toolkit was developed through the Assessing Diversity and Equity in Volunteer Inclusion (ADEVI) project, a collaborative initiative exploring who has access to volunteer opportunities and how organizations can grow more equitable in their volunteer practices. Grounded in the belief that inclusive organizations build stronger connections with their communities, the project is a partnership between Arizona State University (ASU) and the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA), funded by AmeriCorps.
Faiza Venzant, CVA, is the Executive Director of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. With over 25 years of leadership experience in volunteer engagement, she continues this work with a goal of centering community amongst the profession, improving equity and access to volunteerism and increasing diversity amongst professional leaders of volunteers. In 2018, Faiza published her first children’s book titled “My Mamma Wants to Eat Me Up!” As a mother of two young boys, she has not actually eaten any of her children.
