Currents of Community: A Fireside Chat on Volunteering and Wellbeing
Lessons from Medicine Hat
What does it look like when a community takes an intentional, strategic approach to wellbeing—and where does volunteerism fit in?
Join us as we sit down with representatives from the City of Medicine Hat to explore their municipal Community Well-Being Plan, Momentum. Developed with community input, Momentum is a city-wide strategy for wellbeing over the next 10 years. We’ll discuss how volunteerism and civic engagement are woven into their vision, and how to move ideas into implementation.
If you work directly with volunteers, support organizations that do, or are ready to bring more strategy to your own work, this conversation will deepen your understanding of how volunteering and community wellbeing are connected and give you ideas to bring back to your own work.
Speakers: Shona Dickie (Manager, Community Supports, City of Medicine Hat) and Anabell Marroquin (Community Resource Worker, City of Medicine Hat)
