Bring international experience to your organization

We believe volunteerism and civic engagement are crucial for health and well-being. We need people with different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs to create a vibrant community and transform our lives and the lives of others through active participation.

“(Being) Canadian is like being part of a big family. By having an enormous volunteer culture, we are bettering Canada one step at a time and making it one of the best places to call home!”

— Harry, Volunteer stories for a Canada 150 profile by ECVO

Our future depends on all of us working together and inspiring others to do the same, so communities will continue to prosper. Vibrant communities need voices from Canada AND from around the world!

If you’re looking to connect with post-secondary students who have the same passion for your cause, bring international perspective to your organizations for FREE, be inspired by youth from the world, and mentor and engage international students in your community, we have exciting news for you: Volunteer Alberta (VA) and Alberta Students’ Executive Council (ASEC) are working in partnership to bring international voices to Alberta’s nonprofit and voluntary sector!

All you need to do is:

  • Sign up for FREE and create a profile for your organization on Volunteer Connector,
  • Write a description for your organization, choose your cause, and you will be matched with volunteers who have the same passion for your cause.

You will be able to:

  • View volunteers’ profiles and connect with them,
  • Have volunteers follow your organization and get notified whenever you post a new opportunity.

Volunteer Alberta strives to strengthen and create pathways for volunteerism and civic engagement in Alberta. We are honoured to be part of this initiative to connect international students with the nonprofit/voluntary sector.
