Announcement
After weeks of extensive thinking, planning, developing, testing and downright hard-work, Volunteer Alberta announces its newly improved website is now "live" and ready to go!
Some of the features of the upgraded website include:
- New website layout, navigation bar, reader-friendly formats and quick link buttons features allow viewers to locate informative material and resources more easily and efficiently.
- Modifications made to the content and resources within the site itself to ensure all information is current and still accurate.
- Additional details about programs and services allow website viewers to stay aware and informed of all the great services VA provides.
- Facebook, Twitter and a new RSS feed to keep viewers informed with the most up-to-date sector news and other points of interest. Now, viewers will stay current with information related to the nonprofit sector including: upcoming presentations and workshops, sector news, special events, development and consulting projects, funding information (grants and sponsorship), and memberships. Following is made even easier. Interactive membership and sector news sections are embedded within the site to better engage and interact with our viewers.
- A dedicated page to Volunteer Alberta's various History and Achievements over the years, tracks its progress and accomplishments and the impact on the sector and Alberta's Volunteer Centres.
- A section for viewers to get to know the people behind Volunteer Alberta. There is information about Volunteer Alberta Staff, including staff contact information, biographies and photos.
Take a look at Volunteer Alberta's New Sector Blog and tell Volunteer Alberta what you think about the modified website!
Leave a comment or feedback and be entered to win a $100 donation to an Alberta nonprofit/voluntary sector organization.

Volunteer Alberta
Since originally being established in 1990 with the primary purposes of creating Volunteer Centres and delivering National Volunteer Week program funding, Volunteer Alberta has evolved over time to become a bank of knowledge on volunteerism and the nonprofit/voluntary sector.
Volunteer Alberta has hundreds of members from across rural and urban Alberta representing a variety of subsectors, such as arts and culture, social services, education and health.
Volunteer Alberta's membership has also grown to include a province-wide network of 29 Volunteer Centres that work at the local level to serve the needs of volunteers and to connect volunteers with community organizations.
