OPERATIONS & FINANCE

The Operations and Finance Portfolio strategically supports Volunteer Alberta at an organizational level and is responsible for organizational leadership finance, operations, human resources, IT, and internal administration, as well as at a governance level through Board relations. This portfolio is committed to continuous improvement and excellence, while developing VA’s organizational capacity through supporting and strengthening our people.

NETWORKS & ENGAGEMENT

The Networks and Engagement Portfolio supports Volunteer Alberta’s values and is responsible for supporting our members, the Alberta Volunteer Centre Network, and connecting with nonprofit/voluntary organizations from across the province. This portfolio is focused on growing the understanding of the valuable contribution the nonprofit/voluntary sector makes, supporting the capacity of the sector to tackle complex challenges effectively, and building connections between nonprofit/voluntary organizations and between the nonprofit, public and private sectors.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

The Learning and Development Portfolio supports all of Volunteer Alberta’s values, with a focus on stewardship, volunteerism, ingenuity, and community. Learning and Development displays these values by applying innovative and adaptive approaches to encourage the nonprofit/voluntary sector to work together to create and support resilient and vibrant communities. Learning opportunities are designed to enhance the nonprofit/voluntary sector’s capacity to take action, to increase organizational resiliency and to contribute to community and individual wellbeing.
